"Merlin Bronques is an American musician and photographer originally from Brooklyn, NY, United States who grew up partly in Montreal, but primarily Aylmer Quebec, Canada. Born Merlin Mondesir on April 28, 1964 he says he borrowed his mom’s maiden name for the moniker “Merlin Bronques”.
Merlin says he has no formal training and was first introduced to photography by his father who is a studio photographer. He is vague at how he makes his money, but it’s been known that he’s had no other job other than his photographer for over 10 years. A book of his pictures, lastnightsparty: Where Were You Last Night?, was released in 2006 and can be found in bookstores and Urban Outfitters among other spots.
Bronques uses a 5d Mark II fitted with a prime 35mm f/2 lens, and a canon 220ex speedlight mounted on the camera."
